The horseradish-cream cheese ham roll is no longer just a deli counter favorite. Here's a great recipe to keep you going when the store is closed. :)
The ham roll is a true retro classic that is easy to make at home. Whip the cream into a stiff foam, then fold in the cream cheese and grated horseradish. Mix the gelatin with a little water, then melt it in the microwave for 5-7 seconds at 800 W, then fold it into the cream. If necessary, season with salt.
Place the cream in a foam bag and place it in the fridge for at least an hour to allow the gelatin to harden.
Roll up the empty machine hams and press the cream into them from both sides. Season with pepper and chopped chives. It is traditionally served with fresh bread and vegetables, but it can also be included in an Easter bowl of abundance.
